TRANSPORT FESTIVAL
Wednesday 25th - Sunday 29th July 2012

The main event of the season for enthusiasts and general travellers alike, the popular Manx Heritage Transport Festival was established in 2009 replacing smaller events in various guises. Involving all the island's railways including those operated by volunteers at the Great Laxey Mines and Groudle Glen, a wide variety of special services are offered on all networks. Previous events have included a turned locomotive (as above, in 22011 No. 4 Loch of 1874 on a goods train at Castletown Station), evening trains, banked services, Rail Ale trains, footplate rides, workshop and signal box open days and similar events on both the Manx Electric Railway and the Snaefell Mountain Railway, whose Sunset Dinners and Seven Kingdoms Lunches have been enormously popular.
