At 6.30pm on the evening of Friday 18th September locomotive No. 13 Kissack hauled a four-coach train from Douglas to Castletown and return for the first in what is hoped can become a regular event on the railway; for the princely sum of £15.00 passengers were treated to a return trip on the train and a meal of steak pie and chips at the Viking Hotel in the station forecourt. The evening was a low-key experiment on the railway's behalf and was well-attended with approximately 60 people travelling to enjoy the experience. The return journey departed the southern town at 9.00pm
