The railway will once again be operating its commuter trains in Manx Grand Prix week this year; it follows the success of the service provided in practice week and race week of the T.T. races, which has been in place now since the centenary of the event in 2007 and become part of the usual timetable. The trains will operate for just the race days, being Wednesday 2nd and Friday 4th September and will follow the same pattern as used previously, with a morning steam-hauled departure from Port Erin at 7.45am for an 8.45am arrival, with return journeys at 5.45pm arriving at Port Erin for 8.42pm.
