Home News 2012 Rolling Stock Refurbishment Update

As reported in Issue No. 155 of our journal Manx Steam Railway News, 2012 has begun with much activity in the workshops at Douglas Station including attention to the rolling stock and locomotives alike.

Coach F.18 has recieved the new style moquette seating which will ultimately become the fleet standard, replacing the bus-style seating.

Work continues on saloon F.31 which will be outshopped with a new seating layout to enable it to be used on dining trains with the other coaches of the bar set.

Large brake coach F.49 is receiving bodywork attention and will be repainted; it is also receiving new seating moquette.

In the plant shop F.18 and F.49 are side-by-side receiving attention.  To the far left is van G.1 which is also being stored there at present.

All-thirds coach F.48 is also receiving attention and fitting of new seating moquette in readiness for the 2012 season which starts on 24th February.
