Home News 2010 Commuter Trains Return For T.T. Period

The railway will once again be operating commuter services this year, covering both practice week and race week itself with reduced fares to entice locals to use the service.  The commuter service was first provided in 2007 when the T.T. celebrated its centenary and has since become a regular feature of the railway's calendar.  As usual, the final stop will be Ballasalla Station on the morning run, arriving in the centre of the island's capital at 8.45am in readiness for a day at the office.  The poster features a photograph of No. 10 G.H. Wood whilst masquerading as older sister No. 5 Mona back in 2008 when the 40th anniversary of the closure of the Peel and Ramsey lines was commemorated with a special evening service.  For more information on the commuter service please visit www.iombusandrail.info or call the usual numbers.
