Home News 2010 Subscriptions Being Increased

Members will notice when they recieve their next issue of Manx Steam Railway News that the subscription renewal is enclosed therein; this increase is the first since 2001 and has been introduced by necessity owing to increased costings over the last nine years.  In this time the quality of the paper in each issue has been improved, resulting in better reproduction of photographs (most notably in the last issue), and 2009 also saw the introduction of some colour photographs appearing inside, rather than the more standard colour covers.  Needless to say, there have been several increases in postage costs over the last few years as well but we have kept the subscriptions standard throughout this time.

We believe that the improved standard of magazine, and the increased number of pages in more recent times (a standard of 52 pages per issue, from what was once 18 pages!) more than justifies this increase and we do hope that our members will understand this rise in costs.  We have experimented with alternative printers for this issue (150) which we hope will see a continuance in the excellent standards achieved by Mannin Media over the last few years.  This change in printers also represents a lower cost per journal giving us the chance to further justify the increase in the number of pages.
