From transport publishers Book Law Publications comes the first in a set of two full colour books containing archive photographs of the Isle of Man Railway.  Entitled Steam Colour Portfolio : Isle of Man Railway Part 1, the volume includes excellent colour transparencies taken between 1957 and 1963 and is reasonably priced at £19.99 from all good stockists.   It has been compiled by Tom Sherratt who clearly has a passion for the subject matter, and all photographs are from the lens of Keith Pirt.

A full review will appear in a future edition of Manx Steam Railway News giving further detail of some of the views contained therein.  Encouraging is the fact that a further volume is due later in the year which will cover the period 1967-1968 and we’ll let visitors know when this is available.  This first volume has been on sale since December 2009 and is in landscape format with hard cover and colour throughout, adding to any aficionados collection of all things I.M.R.  The book is available directly from the publishers at  www.booklaw.co.uk or your usual stockists.
