Up for auction on Saturday 16th January at their auction at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire, the well-known railwayana specialists Great Central Auctions are offering for sale what is believed to be an original 1880 nameplate from locomotive No. 7 Tynwald which was with withdrawn from service in 1947. The origins of the plate are something of a mystery, with at least one being resident in the island's government chamber (from which it takes its name). There is another known to be in existance on-island so which of the three are "original" has yet to be established.
