Next to the station's signal box stood the brick-built water tower which incorporated storage space beneath the tank.  This was demolished in 1976 at the same time as the signal box and fire-damaged carriage shed.  Our view shows the tower long after the closure of the line; the signal box can be seen just behind it to the right, although not very clear.
