Never ones to shy away from publicity, the Isle of Man Railway Company were prolific in their distribution of posters and handbills to promote services operated in connection with many local events. These advertisements would often be promoting existing services, but under a different title in what would no-doubt be classed as "spin" in this modern age of buzz words and jargon. Latterly, as late as the 1980s special trains were still operated in connection with Douglas Carnival and for the Southern Agricultural show and this section, which will be developed over time and added to as time permits, intends to show some of the many posters placed by the I.M.R. over the years. |
