The second of the saloon coaches, F.30 survived in good condition owing to infrequent use.  It was partially rebuilt in 1972 at which point it was fitted with bus windows and seating, both of which did little to enhance the appearance or comfort of the coach. The seats were constructed to be fitted to a sloping bus floor and when bolted to the flat floor of the saloon, forced the user to sit bolt upright, the headrest forcing your head down, the result being that you spent most of your journey staring into your lap, rather than at the countryside! At this point it was repainted into the standard bright red bus livery in which it remained until 1982 when it received the standard deep purple and cream variation on the post-war livery It was withdrawn from traffic in 1994 being in poor structural condition and stripped down over the ensuing years at the railway's workshops although the rebuild was not commenced until 2009 when it was removed from the railway to be rebuilt at an off-site location, having been the last saloon to receive such attention.  This coach was also the last saloon to retain its central partition (still being two separate third class compartments).  F.30 is now fitted with corridor connections at both ends and forms part of a longer five-coach bar set and re-entered traffic in September 2011 as part of the railway's involvement with the Commonwealth Youth Games for which a ceremony took place in Castletown.  It has also been fitted with replica reversible seating and appears largely as built, save for the lost central partition.
