Photography By Howard Bishop

No. 12 Hutchinson awaiting departure from Douglas to Port Erin on the first day of the newly-introduced Friday shoppers’ trains, 23rd October 1981.  Note the station in its original condition but minus the platform awnings, with the goods shed on the far right.

Marshalling stock prior to departure, No. 12 Hutchinson , showing the signal array before the station at Douglas was truncated and the 1893 carriage shed in the distance.

The shoppers' train arriving at Castletown Station on the same day; note the station canopy is painted blue - at this time Campamarina were sitting tennants in the station and goods shed.

Same date, at Santon Station passing a permanent way train hauled by one of the former County Donegal diesel railcars and utilising the "Double M" bogie runner with two drop-side wagons.

No. 12 Hutchinson on shed at Douglas Station prior to hauling the first Friday shoppers' train on 23rd October 1981; note No. 13 Kissack in the background and the heating equipment on No. 12 between the chimney and dome.
