This coach was one of those deemed to be unnecessary after the Peel and Ramsey lines had closed in 1968, but it had been in service up until that time.  After storage there following closure, it was damaged in the St. John's carriage shed fire of 10th December 1975, after which it was unsuitable for retention and scrapped on site in July of 1976 by the contractors who were scrap metal dealers.  Our view shows the coach in the bay platform at Port Erin carrying the wartime all-over brown livery but retaining the class numbering on compartment doors.
