F.75 consists of two unique four-wheeled coaches, one of which (A.12) was the saloon used by the official opening party on inauguration day in 1873.  This section of the vehicle has seating around the circumference and narrow fixed collapsible tables in the centre.  It was last used in service in the 1974 season prior to being repainted and placed in the newly-opened museum at Port Erin in 1975.  Since this time it has been a permanent exhibit only moving twice; once when fellow exhibit F.36 was required for a Royal Train (at which time F.36 was in front of the former, the two being shunted accordingly) and once more when the museum closed for extensive building works in 1998 during which time the coach was stored at Douglas Station.  Owing to its distinguished patronage in the passed it is referred to variously as either the Duke of Sutherland's Saloon, the Governors' Coach, the Governors' Saloon or any variation therein!  It is distinctive from the other "pairs" coaches in having totally different window and door types and for this reason it is easily recognisable in older photographs from days in service.  Unlike the Queen's Coach which was generally reserved exclusively for royalty, this coach saw regular service in the fleet for many years.
