Home Miscellaneous Items

This section deals with the other items of motive power that the railway has utilised over the years.  The railway has always been operated predominantly by steam, indeed, until the arrival of the diesel railcars there was no alternative motive power.  Today the line operates two diesel locomotives (as detailed elsewhere) but there have in the past been some other haulage items.  Today one Simplex Locomotive is kept at Port Erin, the other such locomotive being presently on loan to the Manx Electric Railway housed at Derby Castle.  This section details each of the miscellaneous forms of motive power that have appeared on the railway over the years.
