Year: 1907
Status: Scrapped
This coach was delivered as part of a batch of three identical vehicles in 1907, of which only F.43 survives today albeit in unservicable condition. Having been withdrawn in 1969 as one of a number of coaches in poor condition no longer required following the closure of the Peel and Ramsey lines the previous year, the bodywork from this coach was scrapped in June of 1977 and subsequently served as one of the railway's bogie flat runners, latterly stored out of use on the Peel Line siding since becoming unfit for use after several years of open-air storage. By 2010 its condition was such that it would have been unconomical to retain and rebuild it, and the decision was made to scrap the frames, whilst retaining any parts that could be used as spares. And so, in June 2011 this frame was cut up for scrap in the yard at Douglas Station. Our first view shows the coach on the release road at Peel Station between duties carrying the wartime austerity livery of all-over brown, however is does still carry the I.M.R. initials and fleet number. These were painted in yellow with black shadowing at this time. The view below shows the scrapping taking place on 6th June 2011; the Supporters' Association were consulted prior to the disposal of the frames, with their condition warranting their loss.
