Having been out of service for some years, this coach was considered to be converted and form one portion of what eventually became the "Bar Set" and was inspected for this purpose in later 1979. However, the proposed funding from Sealink/Manxline never came to fruition and the project was shelved, the management opting to use the saloons for the purpose. This coach last saw use as a mobile mess hut supplied by the railway to the volunteer workers of the Supporters' Association in the 1970s, as our view shows. Note the railway adverts in place of the sash windows and the coach carrying a company crest which was unusual for the time. Afficianados may recognise the coach numbering applied to one of the upper panels which consists of gold coloured transfers rather than the traditional sign-written versions that appeared on some vehicles for a time. The body was scrapped in March 1983 with useable parts such as grab rails and door handles removed a spares for other fleet members.
