Having last been used in passenger traffic as late as 1985 this coach was withdrawn from service in poor condition and placed in store in the old carriage shed at the end of that season.  At some point during this sojourn it was daubed with graffiti and the word "scrap" painted in large red letters along the side of its luggage compartment, and a crude British Rail "two arrows" logo were also added.  When the carriage shed was demolished to make way for the new transport headquarters in 1998 it was removed and stored in the station (as per the photograph above) but is now in the new carriage shed at Douglas Station, in the same condition. Upon completion of the new carriage shed in 1998 it was placed in storage there where it remains today.  In late 2011 it was announced that sister large brake F.41 (which lost its bodywork in 2001 becoming a runner) would be rebuilt and that F.43 would be used as a template for the new bodywork to be constructed, as F.41 has the better frames of the two.  It is not known if the coach will be retained once F.41 has been completed.
