Home Douglas Terminus Steam Locomotive Sheds (1898)


Built in 1898 the steam shed lie at the end of the station platform and are constructed of local stone.  The building to the right as you view from the platform's edge and is a double affair built at the same time as the workshops to the left.  This shed also has two inspection pits running its entire length; at the far end are two further doors leading to the plant shop, carpenters shop and the in-house paint shop.
