The railway's collection of four-wheel cattle vans saw extensive use in conjunction with weekly mart trains that were once a regular occurance in the timetables; the railway inherited some stock from the Manx Northern Railway in 1905 when the amalgamation took place and were also responsbile for building some of their own vehicles using redundant four-wheel coach frames freed up from the "pairing" of these coach bodies. There are no respresentatives of this class today, the last having been scrapped in 1972. |
