Bogie Runners
This was an unofficial class, created in February 1968 when Lord Ailsa experimented with the carrying of container traffic in an effort to increase revenue.  The so-called Mantainor scheme utilised eleven bogie runners which had previously been members of the "pairs" class stripped of their coach bodies and allocated with unofficial fleet numbers by the late Brian Crompton and Peter Craine, with photographic records kepy by Douglas Robinson.  There follows details of each of these runners, for which we hope to add photographs at a later date:-
