Home Back Issues Issue No. 154, Spring / Summer 2011

The summer issue of Manx Steam Railway News has been delayed for a number of reasons, largely due to an announcement which will be made regarding the 2011 annual general meeting.  It is in the process of being collated at the moment with a view to having it dispatched to members in early September.  It will contain the usual news, views and photographs including:-

  • Editorial: Still No Resolution To The Fenella Fiasco
  • News From The Railway
  • Press Releases From Robert Hendry & D.C.C.L.
  • The Blue Railcars: Article & Photograph
  • Coaching Stock Review: What Next?
  • Story of The Trygve Class (Part Three)
  • Manx Miscellanea: Other Transport News
  • Photgraphic Round Up: 2011 So Far . . .
  • Supporters' Annual Meeting Announcement
  • Much, Much More!

The third and final article by Julian Edwards detailing the history of a class of locomotives that pre-date the familar Beyer Peacocks is included (and will be followed by further photographs in the next issue); an update on the proposed projects and the No. 8 saga complete the issue . . . owing to pressure of space and deadlines, a full review of this years Manx Heritage Transport Festival will appear in the next edition (155) which will hopefully be with members after the close of the season.
