With back issues dating back to 1966 when the first foolscap newsletter was issued to members, the back issues of our magazine Manx Steam Railway News provide a fascinating historical insight into the railway, as well as providing a chronological history of the year-by-year happenings on the line.  It is our intention to make sure that members (and visitors to this site) can view as many older articles as possible via this site, and by the purchase of back numbers which are available from our sales outlets on the Groudle Glen Railway.

Occasionally articles from back-issues of thejournal are selected for re-issuing in the current issue; this can be for a number of reasons, ranging from its’ historical importance, to the fact that quite simply an issue is due for publication but is short on material!  As and when such items are included in the magazine, they are shortly thereafter included on this website; in addition to this, an ongoing project continues regularly to include articles from back-issues on this site to build up an online archive of news and related items for visitors.

Below is a list of the older articles that have been used so far, either by their inclusion in Manx Steam Railway News of late, or pieces from older issues that have been re-typed and included on this site for their importance.  We do hope that these will interest our visitors.  If anyone wishes to see articles from a particular issue appearing here please contact the site manager whose details appear on the contacts page of this site.  If the relevant issue is available we will happily add any items of interest to this site.  For the purposes of chronology, "archive" articles are designated as being prior to the year 2000, a further section for recent articles issued post 2000 is also available in this menu.
